Privacy Policy

ID Library is built to collect as little as possible.
No tracking cookies from us
ID Library itself sets no cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Fonts and all page assets are served from our own domain.
Track previews (official Beatport and SoundCloud players)
Previews play only through the official embedded players of Beatport (embed.beatport.com) and SoundCloud (the SoundCloud widget at w.soundcloud.com). No player loads when you open a page. A player loads only when you press ▶ on a track, and it is removed when you close it or play another track. We do not host, download or store any audio.
Once loaded, a player is run by that company, not by us. It connects to their servers and may set its own cookies or similar storage and collect data under its own privacy policy: Beatport and SoundCloud. If you don't want that, don't press play; the "Open on Beatport" and SoundCloud links take you to the provider's own site instead.
SoundCloud track details shown on ID Library (titles, uploader names, play and like counts) are collected by us from the SoundCloud API when the site is built. That process involves no visitor data.
Apple Music lookups
Some pages look songs up with Apple's iTunes Search API (itunes.apple.com), directly from your browser:
- Search page: the text you searched for is sent to Apple to show matching songs on Apple Music.
- Track pages: if we don't already have an Apple Music link for a track, the page sends that track's artist and title (not anything you typed) to Apple to find the matching song for the "Buy on Apple Music" button.
- "Find a preview on Apple Music" buttons send the track's artist and title when you press them.
Apple receives the lookup text and, as with any web request, technical data such as your IP address and browser details. Lookups are sent without cookies or a referrer, and we don't store them. Song artwork then loads from Apple's servers (mzstatic.com), and if you press "▶ Preview" a 30-second preview streams from Apple (audio-ssl.itunes.apple.com). Apple handles this data under its own privacy policy. Song previews are provided courtesy of iTunes.
Crates, follows and watchlists (stored only in your browser)
When you create crates (playlists), follow an artist or label, or watch an ID, ID Library saves that in your browser's localStorage on your device. This includes crate names you type and the track IDs in each crate. It is never sent to us or anyone else; we have no accounts or servers that receive it. It stays until you delete it on the My Crates page or clear this site's data in your browser. It is not synced between devices or browsers. "Download .txt" and "Copy list" create a text tracklist on your device only.
Buy links
"Buy on Beatport" and "Buy on Apple Music" are ordinary links that open the store in a new tab. Purchases happen entirely on the store's site under its own terms and privacy policy. These links currently contain no affiliate or tracking identifiers. If we join an affiliate program, the links may carry a partner identifier so the store can credit ID Library. We will say so next to the buttons and update this policy.
Sign-in, clip and ID submissions: not live yet
"Sign in" and the ID Tracker "Add an ID" form are demos and are not live. Anything typed into them stays in your browser: it is not sent, stored or shared. If we launch these features, we will update this policy before collecting any data and will explain what we collect and why.
Server and hosting logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
